Some Special Requests
-
When you
e-mail a teacher
here at school, please put your child’s entire name in the
subject line. Often we do not recognize the parent name
and we just delete the message without opening it –
especially since we’ve been receiving an extraordinary
amount of junk mail. If your message isn’t clearly
identified and it is buried in all the junk we receive
(often 50 messages a day), it can easily be deleted. Thank
you for your help.

Please do not put our
teachers and staff in a difficult position: in accord with
Archdiocesan legal policy, teachers and staff are
not
permitted to transport children
other than their own children in their cars at any time
including to and from school, on weekends and in the
evenings. Our teachers and staff try to be helpful and may
say, “Sure, I can give your son/daughter a ride home!” when
you ask or when setting up a “play date” or “social event.”
However, as our archdiocesan lawyer says, they never take
off their school hat and as a school staff member they
cannot offer this transportation. Knowing our teachers and
staff, I am sure it is difficult for them to say “NO.” So,
I am asking you not to ask them. Thanks a bunch!!
Some
More Reminders for the New School Year…
Parking:
-
I know
parking is
difficult
at arrival & dismissal time. Yet, unfortunately, we
cannot offer you “parking lot” services. The one small
lot that we do have is reserved for Faculty & Staff
Parking only and this year it is over-crowded.
In fairness to all parents, I cannot permit one or two
families to use the lot; therefore, I ask that no family
try to “squeeze in.” Also, for the safety of you and
your child, please do not walk through the Faculty Lot.
This is a legal issue regarding insurance.
-
Secondly, I ask you
not to park in
the crosswalk
in front of the school. This is a safety issue. Thank
you for your attention to these two issues.
-
Thirdly, if you need
to leave in a hurry once you have picked up your child,
please do not park next to the curb. Other parents need
to double park since curb space is limited and those on
the outside may not be ready to leave when you are. So
if you need to “escape” right away, save yourself some
frustration and park further down the street. This will
help all parents.
-
And lastly, when we
have evening parent meetings I will try to remember to
open the Parker Street gate so that you can park in the
school playground.
Proper Prior Planning
On the very rare occasions
you may need to request an
Early Dismissal
you are
asked to do the following:
-
Send a note to your
child’s teacher the day ahead notifying the homeroom
teacher so that the teacher can help your youngster be
ready at the appointed time, packing up assignments,
etc.
-
Send a note to Mrs.
Ricciardi in the office the day of the Early Dismissal;
-
Call Mrs. Ricciardi
five minutes before you arrive at school to sign out
your child so that she can have your child waiting in
the office for you.
If the teacher does not
know about this ahead of time and you just appear, your
child, unfortunately, will be leaving without homework
assignments. I ask you to help not interrupt the learning
process in the class.
Yesterday
was the due date of the
September Tuition
Raffle.
We are extending the deadline for payment this first time
until next week. In past years Lisa Skrapits and I spent an
incredible amount of time reminding some families month
after month. After several reminders last year some
families opted to put the fundraising fee onto their SMART
payments. Unfortunately, if your payments are delinquent
for two months, we will have no choice but to add this
fundraising obligation to your SMART account. Of course, I
would be most willing to hear of special circumstances that
may occasionally cause you to be late with payment. A
final note: please fill out two forms every month – this
increases your chances of winning!

Today the Food Court
Fundraiser Packet is arriving in your home. I am most
grateful for all that you do in fundraising – we could
not continue to operate without your support as well as
the financial commitment of the
Apostles of the
Sacred Heart of Jesus.
So, although the
Food Court
Fundraiser
is not mandatory, I will be so appreciative of your
participation. All you do will directly benefit your
children. Thank you so very, very much.
