Financial Matters

  • May Tuition Raffle money is due next Wednesday, May 21st – are you one of the families who did not send their payment in yet? Please remember that all financial obligations, besides tuition, must be taken care of before final exams are taken, final report cards are issued or records sent to new schools.  This is part of your contractual obligation.  I thank you in advance for your support.

  • All tuition balances for 2007 – 2008 must be paid in full by May 30th in order for your youngster to attend class and take exams.

Be On the Lookout!
In this packet some of you will find
4th Quarter Progress Reports.  These are sent only to parents whose children are having academic or behavioral difficulties to let you know your youngster may need additional supervision or tutoring in order to bring the year to a successful conclusion.  If you receive a Progress Report and don’t return it signed tomorrow, expect a call from your child’s teacher – just in case the report conveniently disappears between school and home.  Some students may also receive Summer Program notifications with the Progress Report.

Planning Ahead

  • Next Tuesday, May 20th we will hold our May Crowning – a special way to honor Mary, the Mother of Jesus. This is a change of date from the one indicated on the May calendar.   Eighth grader, Danielle Alvarez, has been selected to have the honor of crowning the statue of Mary.   The ceremony will begin at 2:00 p.m.  Please come and pray with us.  Students in Grades PreK – 3 are to wear their school uniform and NOT GYM CLOTHES.

  • Beginning next week, Wednesday, May 21st all students may wear their Class Color SHPS T-Shirt to school in place of the uniform shirt.

  • On Wednesday, May 21st our SHPS Band members will showcase their talents at our Band Concert @ 7:30 p.m. in the APH.

  • Friday, May 23rd is one of our Spring Holidays and there will be no school giving us a 4-day Memorial Day Weekend Holiday.

  • Friday, May 30th is our school’s major feast day, the Solemnity of the Sacred Heart of Jesus.  All are invited to attend our 9:00 a.m. Liturgy which includes the Enthronement of the Sacred Heart Ceremony.  Seventh grader, Jason Stringfellow has been selected to crown the statue of the Sacred Heart of Jesus.   To celebrate this special day, students will have a special treat and dismissal will be at 11:15 a.m.

Congratulations to our 4th Grade students who took the NYS Science Test this week.  94% of the class scored a Level 4 and one student had a perfect score on both parts of the test!  I guess the new science books and materials paid off!!
